Jesus The Jew
According to the Base Law therre Israel is a
Jewish state. There, onto the Mount
of Olives, Jesus will soon arrive from Heaven in the
same way He went away (Acts 1:9-11): And when he had spoken these things,
while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of
their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went
up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye
men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus,
which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as
ye have seen him go into heaven.
Jesus said to the Samaritan woman (John 4:22b): For
salvation is of the Jews. It is true: Jesus was Jewish as concerning
the flesh, and salvation is of Him. Paul, who was from the tribe of
Benjamin, writes (Rom.
9:3b-5): for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the
flesh: Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the
glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of
God, and the promises; Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning
the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen!
In the times of Jesus and Paul the situation
was so that the only tribe of Israelites traceable was the Jews whereto
the heirs of Benjamin had joined. Part of the heirs of Levi were amidst
them, too, because the Levites had been left without own territory and
lived as servants of the Lord among the Jews. In addition to that, many
converts had joined. who were non-Jews as concerning the flesh (pagans
in the Bible
language). The other descendants of Jacob had disappeared into the
nations (the so called ten lost tribes). Of course, you have to
consider the small possibility that their remnants are hidden among the
Jews just like the children of Benjamin. The Bible promises that all of
the tribes will gather together in Israel (Isa.
43:1-7): But now thus saith the LORD that created thee,
O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have
redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou
passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the
rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the
fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon
thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy
Saviour: I gave Egypt for
thy ransom, Ethiopia and
Seba for thee. Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been
honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee,
and people for thy life. Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy
seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; I will say to the
north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from
far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; Even every one that
is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have
formed him; yea, I have made him.
The Lord knows how the tracing will take place
and when. Also the areas of Israel will be divided anew between the
tribes that will at that time already be Messianic, Believers in Jesus
(Isa. 49:8b): and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a
covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the
desolate heritages, (Ezek. 37:20-22) And
the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their
eyes. And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take
the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone,
and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:
And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of
Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no
more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any
more at all.
Jesus, The Root of David, was born and lived
in Judea and Galilee a
Jewish life in the middle of the Roman occupation. Today, Jesus lives
and, still Jewish (and of course Messianic because He believes in
Himself as Redeemer of the world), sits on the right side of Father God
and blesses the preaching of Gospel to the ends of the world.
